This no-cook dinner is perfect for summer! Thanks to Tonnino Tuna, you only need to assemble these creamy lemon pepper tuna tacos. No heating up the stove-top or oven!
Disclosure – I received free samples of Tonnino tuna mentioned in this post. By posting this recipe I am entering a recipe contest sponsored by Tonnino and am eligible to win prizes associated with the contest. I was not compensated for my time. As always, all thoughts are my own.
I love fish tacos, so I knew when Tonnino asked me to join their recipe challenge that tuna tacos were in my future! This recipe was a huge hit at my house because the creamy lemon aioli and the olive oil packed Tonnino tuna made these tacos moist and delicious!
This tuna is different from other brands. The presentation is classy; it comes in a jar and you can see the large pieces inside. I recommend pouring the fillets into a bowl after draining the jar. This will make it much easier to assemble the tacos.
These tacos are bright with lemon flavor, yet simple enough to enjoy the delicious flavor of the tuna. You can find Tonnino tuna at Wholefoods, and I recommend you get multiple jars because you will want to make these tacos again!
Variations to the Creamy Lemon Pepper Tuna Tacos recipe:
- Try a different flavor of Tonnino tuna. I think the garlic or jalapeno would also be delicious in a taco!
- Use your favorite tacos veggies. I used cabbage and lettuce for color and texture. There are lots of other options that you could try, like arugula and onion, spinach and carrot or simple lettuce and tomato.
- Not a fan of mayo? Make your creamy topping with another option like Greek yogurt or sour cream.
- 4 small flour tortillas (6 inch)
- 1½ cups chopped romaine lettuce
- ¼ cup sliced red cabbage
- 8 oz jar Tonnino Lemon Pepper Tuna in Olive Oil
- 3 TBS mayo
- 1½ TBS fresh lemon juice
- Parsley, for garnish (optional)
- Top each tortilla with a quarter of the chopped romaine and sliced red cabbage.
- Drain the jar of Tonnino tuna. Spoon the fillets over the bed of lettuce on each taco.
- Combine the mayo and fresh lemon juice in a small bowl. Drizzle over the tacos, and garnish with minced parsley, if desired.
