I love the combination of kale and potatoes in this frittata.  Potatoes make it hearty and filling, and kale adds nice color, as well as nutritional value!  Really any veggies will do, but this is my favorite, and I usually have the ingredients on hand. Continue reading

Italian Lentil and Quinoa Stuffed Peppers by Alison's AllspiceI have been going crazy over stuffed peppers recently.  The funny thing is, I didn’t use to like them.  In the past, I used bell pepper sparingly in meals so the flavor wasn’t strong.  I don’t know what caused the change in my taste buds, but I’m loving these Italian Lentil and Quinoa Stuffed Peppers!

I don’t stock anchovies as a pantry staple, therefore my garlic black olive tapenade is a vegan version of the classic!

I love garlic, and it pairs perfectly with the olives and capers in the tapenade.  Did you know that garlic ranks number two as a highly beneficial superfood (right behind turmeric)?  It has been linked to reducing/preventing heart disease, stroke, cancer, and infections (source). Continue reading

Homemade Smokey White Cheddar Popcorn by Alison's AllspiceOne of my favorite things to do is enjoy an evening around the campfire!  Campfires usually lead to drinks and food, and my favorite campfire food is this weeks recipe, homemade smokey white cheddar popcorn!

This popcorn gets it’s smokey flavor from smoked paprika.  The fresher the smoked paprika, the stronger the flavor will be.  I buy small amounts from the bulk spices so that it never looses its strong flavor! Continue reading
